Film School Blue Sunshine In Dire Financial Straights

For those unaware of the group (we covered their opening back in June), they run obscure horror and cult films on a regular basis, are very well organized, and have managed to host some of the most impressive film events of the year. One of these was the Twin Peaks marathon with guest appearance of one of the series’ stars.

Peter Keleghan Hosts Benefit for Local Clowns

Lloyd Braun alter ego Peter Keleghan and the fab Madame et Matante will be hosting the I’m With Cupid Cabaret, a benefit for Clowns Gone Bad, Friday at 8 p.m. at the Church of the Baby Jesus in Mile End. And talk about your eclectic guest list of pro bono performers: the incomparable burlesque stylings of Miss Sugarpuss; the otherworldly comedy of Mike Paterson; the madcap improv of the Godfather Theatre; the music of the Rubber Brubbers, Les Dirigibles de Plomb, and Julie and the Drug Sqaud (featuring Goulem); the opera of LiederWolf; the delirious strutting of the Dance Animal gang; and something called Van Mötley Mötörsmith Ledsnake Feat, which we presume to be performance art of the highest order.
